CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - A P.E.I. woman who has been charged with attempted murder and administering a noxious substance has elected to be tried by a supreme court judge alone.
The woman, who has been in custody since her arrest, made a brief appearance before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown Monday.
Defence lawyer Thane MacEachern told the court his client did not want a preliminary inquiry.
The woman remains in custody and her next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 13 in P.E.I. Supreme Court where she will enter a plea.
A publication ban prevents the release of any details that could identify the alleged victim.
