Winning 'quest' continues for Campbell

Patience can be a key ingredient for success and Red Shores' leading driver used it to his advantage with Rose Run Quest in the Saturday afternoon featured pace at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Driver Marc Campbell was unhurried at the start of the $2,550 preferred pace, laying fifth with Rose Run Quest while Winter Blast (driven by Adam Merner) put down stiff fractions of 27.4 and 57.1.

Winter Blast then gave way to the first over advance of Heart And Soul (Walter Cheverie) with Rose Run Quest in the second-over position until the three-quarters of 1:27.2.

Rose Run Quest then gobbled up group to finish the mile in 1:56.3 with a three-and-three-quarter length victory over second place Heart And Soul and Forever Paradise (Ken Murphy) completing the $244.90 triactor. Campbell trains Rose Run Quest for owner Blair Hansen of Charlottetown.

Rose Run Quest's trip to the winner's circle was one of three for driver Campbell as he now sits at 149 wins on the season at Charlottetown with three programs left in the calendar year.

Prettyndangerous won the $2,000 top mares class with a 1:58.1 victory for driver Merner and co-owner and trainer Bo Ford with co-owner Arnold Myers of Charlottetown.

Jason Hughes had a pair of wins from his own stable. The Stratford reinsman won with Narragansett in 1:58.3 and Doublejacknaces in 2:01.2 and was joined in the winner's circle by son Justin Hughes who was celebrating his 11th birthday.

Czar Seelster won the $2,100 back-up pace in 1:56.3 for trainer-driver Todd Weatherbee and owner Tammy Johnston of Stratford.
