MORELL – Maggie Rae Dennis sent the Charlottetown Rural Raiders back to familiar territory.
Dennis scored two second-half goals to lift the Raiders to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Morell Marlins in a P.E.I. School Athletic Association Senior A Girls Soccer League semifinal game on Wednesday.
Hannah Myers scored in the first half to give Morell a 1-0 lead at the break.
Kiera LaBobe was the winning keeper.
Rural will face KISHORA in the gold-medal game for the third year in a row on Saturday. The game, which will be played at UPEI, begins at 9 a.m.
In senior A boys’ semifinals, the Colonel Gray Colonels doubled the Evangeline Coyotes 4-2 and Charlottetown Rural got by Francois Buote 4-3 in penalty kicks.
Boniface Ncunga, Nour Aldwery and Tyler Johnston scored for the Colonels. Gray’s other scorer is unavailable.
Evan Gallant and Chad Arsenault answered for Evangeline.
The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.
Rural and Francois Buote were even 1-1 at the half.
Lauchlan MacMillan, (2) and Carl Trainor scored in regulation time for the Raiders. Nic Brown, Malcolm Gilman and Matteo LeClair replied for Francois Buote.
Winning keeper was Mahmaud Moustafa.
The medal games are scheduled for the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall and UPEI in Charlottetown.
