Rugby Panthers lose to Axewomen

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Acadia Axewomen defeated the UPEI Panthers 55-10 Saturday in Atlantic University Sport women’s rugby action in Charlottetown.

Acadia scored two tries in the last seven minutes to take a 19-0 lead into halftime.

The win improves the Axewomen to 4-1 while the Panthers fall to 1-4. UPEI finishes the regular season in Halifax on Thursday at 7 p.m. against the Saint Mary’s Huskies (0-5) while top-ranked St. FX (5-0) and Acadia play Sunday, Oct. 15, in Wolfville, N.S.
