The championship will be held July 7-15 in Prince Albert, Sask.

The 17-player roster and three alternates were determined following a selection camp in O’Leary in August following the completion of the under-18 men’s Canadian championship.

“With the team now selected, we are looking forward to working with our athletes as we prepare them for the World Championship in 2018,” said head coach Jeff Ellsworth, an Alberton native. “We asked the athletes to make our team selection decisions difficult and they did not disappoint. ”

There are 10 players from Ontario, two from Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia and one each from Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island on the roster.

Team Canada earned the bronze medal at the previous junior world championship held in Midland, Mich., in 2016.

The coaching staff also includes Mermaid’s Mark Quinn.
