Chris Cayole is back.
After sitting out an entire year due to a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered in June 2013, Cayole has signed with the Island Storm for the 2014-15 National Basketball League of Canada season.
Cayole, one of the league’s top Canadians, is the Storm’s first signing for the upcoming season.
The six-foot-eight shooting forward was the Storm’s first pick in the second round of the league’s inaugural draft.
With family roots in Montreal, Cayole is one of their four Canadians. He now lives in Burlington, Ve., where he attended St. Michaels College.
Cayole was named to the league’s All-Canadian team in his first two seasons with the Storm. He has averaged more than 10 points per game during his NBL career while shooting better than 46 per cent from the field and 41 per cent from the three-point line.
"It’s great to have Chris back," said head coach Joe Salerno. "He has worked extremely hard rehabbing over the past year, and I am happy we could reward him for that with a contract for the upcoming season. Re-signing a two-time Canadian NBL All-Star is a great start to the off-season for us.”
