Late goal sinks Caps

MIRAMICHI, N.B. – It was a tough finish for the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals on Wednesday night.
Jason Imbeault’s power-play goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation time broke a 2-2 tie, and lifted the Miramichi Timberwolves to a 3-2 victory. The man advantage was a result of the Caps being called for too many men on the ice with 1:28 remaining.
The win moves the Timberwolves one point ahead of the Capitals in the Eastlink North Division of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League). Miramichi improved to 5-3-1-1 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses), and the Caps dropped to 5-6-1-0.

Two assists
Before 437 fans at the Miramichi Civic Centre, Caps forward TJ Shea earned two assists to improve his league-leading point total to 20 – 10 goals and 10 assists.
Hunter McIntyre and Austin Taylor scored for the Caps, who also received single assists from Sebstien Cormier and Jesse Annear.
Dillon Boucher scored the first two Miramichi goals.
The Caps led 2-1 after the first period, and the teams went into second intermission tied 2-2.
Overall, the Caps outshot the Timberwolves 35-30, including period advantages of 10-8, 16-14 and 9-8. Tanner Somers picked up the goaltending win, and Rett Rook took the loss.
The Caps visit the Woodstock Slammers (3-5-3-0) on Saturday night.
