CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings have taken a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Island Junior Hockey League final series.

The Red Wings pulled out a 4-3 road win over the Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros at the Cody Banks Arena on Thursday night. Game 3 is scheduled for the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Chasse Gallant, Isaac Knox, Alex Morrissey and Isaac Callaghan scored for the Red Wings, who outshot the Metros 58-30.
Lucas Beaulieu and Jason Gallant each had two assists while Evan Millman, Connor Morrissey and Cole Hacket each added one.

Connor McGregor had a goal and an assist for the Metros while Dylan MacDonald and Cody McPhee also scored. Barrington Duffy, Tanner Lund and Connor Gray each had a helper.

Luke Oliver made 27 saves for the win while Alex Kelly was peppered with 53 shots in the loss.

Western led 2-0 after the first period, but the Metros tied it going to the third with two of their own in the second.

The Wings scored at 4:28 and 11:40 of the third to take a 4-2 lead only to see the Metros inch closer with a power-play goal at 13:47.
