The Charlottetown Islanders put its five-game winning streak on the line versus one of the best teams in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Saturday.

Rouyn-Noranda (9-1-1-2) sits tied with Cape Breton, Drummondville and Quebec with 21 points as the Huskies roll into Eastlink Centre.

Game time is 3 p.m. for the annual Pink the Rink game in support of The Canadian Breast Cancer Association.

The Islanders (6-6-1) will wear special edition pink jerseys. Fans have a chance to win one of the game-worn jersey by purchasing a raffle ticket or by placing a bid in the silent auction.

Raffle tickets, $5 each or three for $10, will be sold in the lobby during the game. The draw goes after the second intermission and the players will present the jerseys following the game.

There’s silent auction on Saturday for the pink jerseys of Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Pascal Aquin, Adam Marsh, Keith Getson, Matthew Welsh, Matthew Grouchy, Hunter Drew and Saku Vesterinen.

Charlottetown’s Chris McQuaid returns to the Island with the Huskies for Saturday’s game. The six-foot, two-inch, 178-pound defenceman is scoreless with a plus-seven plus-minus in 13 games this season.

Breast cancer survivors and patients receive free admission and fans are encouraged to dress up in pink to show their support. The Islanders team shop will have pink shirts available for purchase with proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Association.

There will also be a ceremonial puck drop with Joan Wood, who is a proud cancer survivor. She’s been a supporter and participant in the annual CIBC Run for the Cure and has been a Reach for Recovery volunteer for the past 17 years.

Breast cancer patients and survivors can receive a complimentary ticket at 902-629-6625 or by visiting the box office Saturday from noon until game time.

A family of four (a combination of two adults/seniors and two students/youth) can attend the game for $40, HST included.

Tickets are available in person at the box office or at 902-629-6625 or eastlinkcentrepei.com.
