Early outburst keys Metros victory in junior C hockey

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Sherwood Metros scored three goals in the first period en route to a 5-2 win over the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces in a Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League tussle Monday at Cody Banks Arena.

Brodie MacArthur (1-2), Tanner MacLean and Jake Arsenault did the honours in the first for the Metros, while Arsenault and Logan Toole (1-2) added goals in the second. Arsenault added two assists as did Owen Arsenault.

Curklan Fraser and Will Tuplin netted first- and third-period goals, respectively, for the Aces. Chase McCue chipped in two assists.

Blake Arsenault earned the win over Kristen Clemens.

Sherwood led 3-1 after the first and 5-1 at the second intermission.

Sherwood outshot Tignish 39-32 and went 3-for-5 on the power play. The Aces went 0-for-5 with the extra man.
