Charchuk wins 100-metre gold at Special Olympics World Winter Games

Charchuk’s golden moment came in the 100-metre final of the Female 15th Division. Charchuk’s qualifying time was 39.8 seconds, but she had a significant improvement, stopping the clock in 35.25 seconds in the final.
Next up for Charchuk will be the 200-metre final on Tuesday, which is scheduled for just past 3 p.m., Atlantic Time. Charchuk qualified with a time of one minute 55.95 seconds.

Figure skater Alyssa Chapman of Murray Harbour is currently fourth following the singles compulsory program.
Chapman, who is competing in the Female Level 4 Division for ages 14 to 26, will skate her first ice dance on Tuesday.
