TYNE VALLEY – Jeremy Arsenault was the overtime hero for the Wellington Flyers on Friday night.
Arsenault scored at 2:14 of the extra period to lift the Flyers to a 3-2 win over the Tyne Valley Farm Boys Inc. Tornadoes before 500 fans at the Tyne Valley Community Sports Centre.
The win improved the Flyers’ record to 2-0 (won-lost) early in the West Prince Senior Hockey League season. The Tornadoes dropped to 1-1.

Colton Gallant and Colin Arsenault scored in regulation time for the Flyers, who received assists from Marcel Landry (2), Matt Kelly, Mitch Lamers and Scott Watson.
Nathan Ellis and Mitchell Phillips answered for the Tornadoes. Cory Ellis, Adam Ballum and Adam MacLennan set up the goals.
The first period was scoreless, and the Tornadoes took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission.
Jordan Arsenault earned the goaltending win. Jeff Noye was between the pipes for Tyne Valley.
