Acadia defeats UPEI 5-2 in AUS men's hockey

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – The UPEI Panthers men’s hockey team lost their sixth straight game on Saturday night.

Stephen Harper and Boston Leier each scored twice as the Acadia Axemen defeated the Panthers 5-2 in Atlantic University Sport action in Wolfville, N.S.
Taylor Makin added a single for the home squad while Alexander Lepkowski and Sam Fioretti each had two assists.
Sam Aulie and Austin Levi had power-play goals for the Panthers. Captain Brent Andrews had two assists while Cody Payne added a single.
Robert Steeves made 26 saves for the win while Matt Mahalak stopped 31 shots in the loss.
UPEI was 2-for-7 on the power play while Acadia was 1-for-4 but scored one goal shorthanded.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first period while Acadia led 3-1 heading to the third.
Acadia improved to 10-5-1 while UPEI falls to 5-9-2, one point up on last-place Moncton (5-10-1).
The Panthers end the first semester with home games Thursday against Saint Mary’s and Friday with Acadia.
