SOURIS, P.E.I. - Heavy weights and heavyweights ruled the day as 25 powerlifters hit Souris Regional High School for the recent Team Indy powerlifting raw challenge.
Courtney Dill and Nathan Conway, lifting in their respective heavyweights divisions, won the overall men’s and women’s titles.
The event, the first in Souris since 2013, also raised $1,500 for local charities the Village Feast supports.
Rebecca MacPhee won the women’s lightweight class, while Amber James took the women’s middleweight division.
On the men’s side, Colby Enslow earned the lightweight division title and Noah Manning earned the middleweight crown.
The meet included 16 competitors in the women’s division and nine in the men’s division. Full Throttle Fitness from Morell collected six of the eight medals awarded in the women’s division.
Tom Nicholls, three-time world powerlifting champ, was the head official.
