CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – An Island native and a Charlottetown Islanders prospect have been invited to Hockey Canada’s World Under-17 Hockey Challenge development camp.

Defencemen Charlie DesRoches of Days Corner and Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, N.B., native Lukas Cormier were part of the 111-player roster announced on Friday. The camp will take place in Calgary July 21-27.

DesRoches was selected by the Saint John Sea Dogs in the second round (32nd overall) of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) draft. He had originally committed to Northeastern University, but has decided to play major junior.
