ST. JOHN’S – It was a tough day for Adam Casey’s Saskatchewan rink at the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier on Monday.

Casey, a native of Seven Mile Bay, and his team of third stone Catlin Schneider, second stone Shaun Meachem and lead Dustin Kidby lost twice to fall to 2-3 (won-lost) at the Canadian men’s curling championship in St. John’s, N.L.
Casey dropped a 10-5 decision to former teammate Brad Gushue (3-1) in evening action. In the afternoon draw, Quebec’s Jean-Michel Ménard (2-2) counted three in the fifth end to take a 6-2 advantage into the fifth-end break en route to an 8-3 win over Casey.
Tuesday, Casey plays New Brunswick’s Mike Kennedy (1-3) in the afternoon, and takes on Ontario’s Glenn Howard (1-3) in the evening.
