CHARLOTTETOWN – Players from two Prince County entries in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League swept the players-of-the-week awards.
James Birt of the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch took the offensive award, and Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces goaltender Andrew Gallant received the defensive honour.
Birt scored a hat trick, including the winning goal, in a 6-4 win over the Southside Lynx MacDonald’s Excavation/EF MacPhee Lynx in Crapaud on Saturday night. Birt followed that up with two goals and an assist in a road win over the Clory Construction Eagles in Georgetown.
Birt is second in team scoring with 24 points in 18 games.

53 saves
Overall, Gallant made 53 saves in two games last week.
Gallant was solid in a 7-1 road win over the Crunch on Friday night, and made 24 saves after entering the game in the second period to give the Aces a chance in a 4-3 loss to the North River Flames on Sunday night.
