MORELL, P.E.I. – Jordan Stevenson threw another gem and Jed MacEwen had an RBI single in the top of the sixth to score the game’s only run as the Northside Gill Construction Brewers edged the Morell Chevies 1-0 Sunday in Morell.

The Brewers hold a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-five Kings County Baseball League semifinal.

Game 4 goes Tuesday in Morell at 7 p.m.

Mitch Ryan led off the top of the sixth with a single. After a sacrifice bunt and an error put runners on the corners, MacEwen hit one passed a diving third baseman to break a scoreless game.

Stevenson threw a four-hitter for the win. Bryan Linton led the Brewer bats with two hits while Nigel Fisher and MacEwen were each 1-for-2. Defensively the Brewers threw out a Chevie runner trying to score from second on a Brewer error in the bottom of sixth to retain the lead.

Logan Gallant had two hits for the Chevies while Scott Harper and Jarrod Laybolt each had one. Troy Coffin suffered the complete game loss scattering seven hits.
