PEAKES, P.E.I. – The Peakes Bombers jumped out to an early seven-run lead and coasted to a 10-1 win over the Northside Brewers Sunday in Peakes.

Rob Phelan threw five innings, giving up one run on four hits to earn the win. Noah Stewart relieved Phelan, throwing two scoreless innings. Jayden MacLean took the loss with relief from Bryan Linton.

Mitchell Power led the Bombers at the plate with a homerun and a double. Phelan went 1-for-1 with three walks and Sean Corcoran was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Patrick Young and Mitch Ryan were both 2-for-3 to pace the Brewers attack.

In other action, the Morell Chevies erased a 3-2 deficit with a four run fourth inning and held on to edge the Charlottetown Expos 6-5 at Memorial Field.

Andrew O’Shea picked up the win. Darcy Affleck pitched the final two frames for the save. 

Jeremy Koughan suffered the loss, with relief from Tyler Johnston. 

Scott Harper paced the Chevy attack with four hits in five trips, while Mike Ellsworth, Avery Arsenault and Troy Coffin each added a pair of hits. 

For the Expos, Jordan Duffy, Kris McGuirk and Elijah Hood all collected two hits.

The teams meet again Wednesday in Morell. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
