New Haven’s Jared Connaughton did not advance in the 100 metre Sunday at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 29-year-old sprinter finished third in his heat in 10.47, but his time put him 27th in the field of 72. Jamaica’s Kemar Bailey-Cole won the heat in 10.16.
Guyana’s Adam Harris was the final of the 24 athletes to advance with his 10.45 time.
The three semifinals and the final will take place on Monday.
Connaughton is also entered in the 4x100-metre relay, which is scheduled for Friday.
