Final preparations are underway for the Autism Society of P.E.I. S.T.A.T.S. Charity Golf Tournament taking place Saturday at the Clyde River Golf Course.

“A tremendous amount of work from our many volunteers and corporate sponsors has been happening over the last several months to prepare for the tournament,” said society president Jeff Himelman. “This annual tournament is a very popular event and helps raise money for things like family support, hosting conferences and events, and educating and advocating on behalf of the hundreds of Islanders living with Autism.”

The tournament includes a dinner and silent auction featuring many sports memorabilia items and many prizes from corporate sponsors as well as special challenge holes where teams can compete for extra prizes. The tournament, being hosted this year at Clyde River Golf Course, gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

“There’s a lot of excitement building for this year’s tournament,” said tournament chairman Mauro (Stats) Corazza. “Our fingers are crossed for great weather to go along with a great time as we swing together to support Islanders living with Autism.”
