Police arrest man for possession of drugs in North Bedeque

Members of the Prince District JFO Drug Unit arrested a 59-year-old male for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking Friday In North Bedeque.

The male and the drugs were found in a vehicle. Police located a large quantity of Dilaudid pills (hydromorphone), as well as Oxycocet pills (Oxycodone) and cash.  The male was held in custody and will appear for a remand hearing today (Saturday)

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of officers from the Summerside Police Service and the East and West Prince RCMP detachments and is responsible for conducting drug investigations in the Prince District and Summerside City areas.

    wait a sec. he was selling pain killers right. where did he get them? is the pharmacy being charged for selling them too? is the prescribing doctor being charged with trafficking too? both those entities are equally involved in the problem. time for the responsible ones (read medical community) to take some responsibility for this problem too. if the doc doesn't prescribe so many painkillers, less are stolen in break-ins, less are sold in the street. oh yeah and the doc gets less trips to the bahamas courtesy of the drug companies.

    When are we going to stop wasting money on throwing people in prison who don't even commit a crime against anyone. A voluntary exchange between adults is no one's business but their own!

      you must be one of his customers. how do you know he is only selling to adults? kids also buys drugs. give him 20 years in prison and $20,000 fine.
