LETTER: Halloween vandalism

Apparently, according to a local official who should know better, young people tampering with fire hydrants in Souris is just kids being kids.

What about throwing eggs at houses, setting fires, harming animals, or damaging cars? Are those other examples of kids being kids, and therefore also acceptable?

These so-called pranks are not remotely funny; many are mean-spirited and dangerous.

Adults in positions of authority need to take these types of actions more seriously.

Vandalism is vandalism, and it shouldn't be condoned - at any age.
