EDITOR:

I am dismayed by the fact that Muslims the world over are failing to respond to acts of terrorism where God is used as justification for a beastly act of cowardice. The recent incidents in Belgium call for a worldwide cry for praise to God.

The phrase Allahu Akbar means God is Great, as indeed he/she is. We celebrate and give thanks for all that is wonderful when we use this expression of faith.

To have these brutal people misuse this term and declare it as the phrase of sacrifice simply calls for all Muslims to speak up and demand respect for God's goodness. Surely this religion which is the largest in the world in terms of followers should defend their faith and decry every terrible act of brutality.
