EDITOR:
George Clark-Dunning’s April 14 editorial (Horrible, smelly habit) is a breath of fresh air. We must recognize that smoking and drinking are largely genetic disorders. When little Timmy encounters Mom and Dad drunk he will become depressed and soon, that well-advertised bottle of Jack Daniels becomes attractive. It's only a matter of time until he is drooling, urinating in public and becoming a general nuisance to Islanders and tourists alike.
I find it somewhat humorous that Islanders are urged to call Crime Stoppers to report illegal tobacco. Where do I call to report immoral taxation for the nearly 80 per cent taxation now in effect for cigarettes, booze and soon, pot.?
