The RCMP are investigating after someone used paint to vandalize the inside of a summer home in eastern P.E.I. recently.
What was found inside the house near St. Margarets included paint splattered throughout parts of the house, wedding pictures vandalized and “kill 666” scrawled on the walls.
Another message said “watch out you’re next” while other parts of the house had crosses painted on them, including cupboards, a stove and a patio door.
The vandals also struck a shed on the property, painting graffiti on it, including the word “smoke.”
RCMP Cpl. Scott Stevenson said the incident was reported Thursday, but was believed to have happened some time the week before.
The house is a summer property and someone had been in to check on it earlier in the month, Stevenson said.
An RCMP canine team was called to the scene and Stevenson said it found a paintbrush and paint can.
“It’s just the regular course of investigation is being pursued at this point,” Stevenson said.
The RCMP don’t think the homeowners were targeted, Stevenson said, but some of the things in the house will have to be replaced.
“It was a quite costly thing.”
