Police, Parks Canada staff, an RCMP helicopter out of Moncton and two police dogs searched the main beach area of Brackley Beach in the P.E.I. National Park on Wednesday.

RCMP Sgt. Leanne Butler said the 35-year-old woman who is the subject of the search was reported missing around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Butler said the dive team will arrive from New Brunswick today, but feel conditions may be too dark to continue the search by the time they arrive.

Police do not feel there is need for public assistance with this search.

The name of the missing woman is not being released.
