MONTAGUE — Police have arrested male in his late 30s who barged his way into a quiet surburan home here early Tuesday morning with no apparent motive.
RCMP received a 911 call from a residence that a burly individual forced his way into the home and assaulted the owner, a 61-year-old man.
The residence is apparently located on Campbellton Street, a quiet residential area on a dead end street a block from the local hospital.
"It's just shocking that something like this would happen," said Mayor Richard Collins.
The suspect male is described as wearing a ball cap and driving an early 2000 model burgundy Buick Le Sabre or Century in poor condition.
The man was the lone occupant of the car, had no plate number, and was unknown to the victim.
The investigation continues.
