CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The victim of a man who posted nude photos of her on a website without her consent says she doesn’t feel safe after what he did to her.
She made those comments Friday in provincial court in Charlottetown where Brian Robert Joseph MacAdam pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including distributing child pornography.
MacAdam previously pleaded guilty to distributing intimate images.
Reading from her victim impact statement, the victim said people she didn’t know started sending her messages on social media after MacAdam posted the photos, and it left her wondering who else had seen the pictures.
“My fears from then began to grow,” she said.
A publication ban prevents the release of any details that could identify any of the victims.

Before the victim spoke in court, Crown attorney Lisa Goulden read an agreed statement of facts that detailed MacAdam’s actions involving several victims.
Goulden told the court one of the victims contacted Charlottetown police in March to report she had discovered nude photos of herself on a website that let users post pornographic photos anonymously.
That woman’s photos showed her face and bare breasts, along with her name.

As part of their investigation, the police identified several P.E.I. women whose intimate images MacAdam posted to the same website.
Goulden said some of the women didn’t know MacAdam or how he had obtained their photos.
During an interview with police, MacAdam admitted to posting the pictures, saying he uploaded some of them because he wanted to show off his collection, Goulden said.
“He compared it to showing off a baseball card collection.”
Goulden said the police seized a tablet from MacAdam, and an analysis showed he was responsible for posting 69 images to the website.
Of those, 41 were considered intimate images, and many had the women’s names as part of the file name.
Goulden said the police asked the website to remove the photos, which it did.
The police also determined a victim in five of the photos was a 17-year-old girl from P.E.I. and MacAdam was aware she was underage at the time they were taken.
After his arrest, MacAdam was released from custody on an undertaking that included a condition he not possess or use any electronic devices that can access the internet.
Goulden said MacAdam sent messages through Facebook to two women, including one of the victims.
He also failed to attend court in May but is now back in custody.
After hearing the facts read, the victim who spoke in court struggled through tears as she said she was left feeling like it was all her fault.
“I know that it was not,” she said.
The victim said she feels like MacAdam will always haunt her life.
“I feel trapped now.”
Provincial court Judge John Douglas adjourned the matter until Sept. 24 to give the Crown and defence time to make submissions on sentencing.
