Just before 10:30 a.m. Friday, Summerside Police Service received a 911 call from a witness reporting someone had just kicked in an apartment door on First Street and that screaming could be heard coming from the apartment.

Police attended and were informed by the victim that three people attended his residence and forced opened the door, said a report issued by the department this morning.

The victim said he was then assaulted by one of the suspects who fled before police arrived.

All three suspects were identified and two were arrested a short time later.  One of the suspects was released without charge, the other, a 22-year-old Summerside-area woman, will be appearing in court at a later date to face a charge of break and enter into a residence.

Police are still attempting to locate the third person involved.

The victim received minor injuries and the parties involved are all known to one another.

“According to those involved, this incident stemmed from an earlier dispute and was not a random act,” said the report.
