Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint this morning at 1:40 a.m., about an assault occurring at an address on Hillsbrough Street.

The victim said that a male assaulted her. She received minor injuries.

The investigation continues into this case.

Last night, police on patrol saw a speeding vehicle on Kensington Road and stopped it at around 10:30 p.m.

While the driver, a 44-year-old Charlottetown resident, did not blow over the legal limit of blood alcohol, there was a warning light.

Charlottetown Police Services issued a roadside suspension and the driver will be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle for a time.

Kings District RCMP were also on the road the past few days.

Last evening a Kings District RCMP officer stopped a vehicle in Mount Albion and learned that the driver had a suspended licence.

As a result, a 22-year-old man driver was issued a $275 ticket and his vehicle was towed and will be impounded for 30 days.
Then at 2:40 a.m. this morning, a Kings District RCMP officer checked a vehicle in Souris and detected that the 19 year-old male driver of Souris was likely drunk.

This driver failed the roadside test, and blew over the legal limit back at the Montague detachment.

His vehicle was towed, then he was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
