Five people accused of breaking into a Lower Freetown man’s home last Friday, assaulting him and stealing electronic equipment all made court appearances this week.
Jeferson Sanders, 22, of Kensington; Joshua James Bernard, 21, of Summerside; Skyler Kenneth Fear, 21, of Miscouche; Shelby Jean Mary Doucette, 19, of Summerside; and Devon Charles Boyles, 19, of North Bedeque all face the same five charges in relation to the incident.
The charges include, robbery, break and enter, assault with a weapon (a baseball bat), unlawful confinement and wearing a mask during the commission of an offence.
RCMP say the victim was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later released.
All five of the accused have been released from custody and will appear in court on March 10 to enter pleas.
East Prince RCMP say it got a call at about 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 5, from a man who said several people had broken into his home, beaten him and stolen several items.
The Mounties arrested and charged four people later that day and the fifth a couple of days later.
