Outages have fluctuated over the past two hours from 1,900 to 3,000.
Power was recently restored to Georgetown, leaving just under 2,000 customers without power.
Griffin says Maritime Electric has 40 crews working on restoring power with a number of spotter teams assisting.
Crews are out around the clock.
“We have lots of inventory equipment,’’ says Griffin.
“Everything is working well on our end. It’s just time (to get the work done). The crews are a pretty determined bunch.’’
Eastern P.E.I. took the brunt of Mother Nature Sunday with wet snow, high winds and freezing rain combining to topple more than 90 poles in that part of the province.
Close to 12,400 Island customers lost power over Sunday night.
Charlottetown’s Public Works Department expects to be de-icing and/or clearing and hauling snow tonight. Motorists are advised that the overnight winter parking restrictions will be enforced throughout the city at the discretion of Charlottetown Police Services.
Anyone parking on city streets tonight is taking a risk that they may be ticketed and/or towed.
