Prince Edward Island had the lowest rate of UFO sightings in Canada in 2015, with 1.37 for every 100,000 people, according to the recent Canadian UFO Survey.

The rate of UFO sightings in 2015 was highest in Quebec, at 5.45, which also had the highest total sightings of any province or territory, at more than 450.

The Canadian rate of sightings was 3.53 per 100,000.

The two sightings reported on the Island occurred in Summerside on June 14 and in Montague on Aug. 15.

If aliens are smart enough to travel across galaxies, they must also be smart enough to travel to P.E.I. in the summer months. Perhaps they fancied a walk along Summerside’s boardwalk, or a visit to the Acadian Museum.

The survey said the Summerside report featured a photo showing “an object in sky.”

Montague’s report only consisted of a description of a bright light, which “moved across sky quickly.”

It’s possible the reason there were so few sightings in P.E.I. is that spaceships fly over the small Island fairly quickly – it doesn’t take long to drive across in a beaten up Toyota Corolla, it must take seconds for an intergalactic spacecraft.

P.E.I. actually has the second-highest rate of UFO sightings by square kilometre, at 35.34 per 100,000, behind Nova Scotia at 63.31.

Despite Quebec’s large landmass, it hung on to third place with 29.18 sightings for every 100,000 square kilometres.

UFOlogy Research of Manitoba conducted the survey. It gathered information using a variety of sources, including the National UFO Reporting Center, Transport Canada, National Defence and YouTube.

Because of P.E.I.'s small population and area, these numbers would change drastically either way if the concrete number of sightings changed.

It is possible there were additional sightings in P.E.I. not included in the report.

The truth is out there.
