Oliver gets jail for forcing his way into neighbour’s P.E.I. home

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – A Charlottetown man was sentenced recently to 120 days in jail after he assaulted someone and forced his way into a neighbour’s residence.

Jason Oliver, 38, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing on charges of assault and being unlawfully in a dwelling.

Oliver committed the assault in July 2016 and in November he had to be forcibly removed from his neighbour’s residence.

Along with the jail time, Oliver will be on probation for 18 months and must pay $200 in victim surcharges.

He must also write apology letters to his victims and is banned from having any contact with them.
