A Charlottetown man who used a stolen credit card three times last year was recently given a suspended sentence.

Joseph Edgar Bryenton, 55, appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to fraud.

The court heard that on Sept. 12, 2016 the victim reported she lost her purse.

A MasterCard in the purse was used 11 times, although Bryenton admitted to three uses for a total of $149.

With the suspended sentence, Bryenton will be on probation for nine months and must pay $149 in restitution along with a $100 victim surcharge.
