CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Justin Muttart has announced his intention to seek the Ward 2 (Belvedere) seat on Charlottetown city council in the Nov. 5 election.

Muttart has lived in Parkdale and Sherwood for more than 40 years. He currently resides in the ward with his wife, Vanessa, and their two children, Nathan and Paige.

For the past 18 years, he has worked as an information technology consultant. Muttart is enthusiastic about technology and would like to see the City of Charlottetown streamline programs and services, such as the ability to apply for permits, make payments and submit applications online through the use of technology.

Muttart said he is also passionate about youth and is active in the community as a volunteer, spending the past six years as a coach for minor hockey and minor baseball. He currently sits on the Sherwood Home and School Association and is the vice-president/secretary for the Sherwood-Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association.

“I’ve lived in Parkdale-Sherwood for most of my life and I’m very passionate about my community,’’ Muttart said. “As a father of young children, I believe in a safe and vibrant community, as well as providing opportunities for our city and communities to grow and prosper.’’
