SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Another candidate has entered the race for a seat on Summerside City Council for Ward 2: St. Eleanors–Slemon Park.
Justin Doiron, who recently officially announced his candidacy, has been a resident of Summerside for 20 years. He resides in St. Eleanors with his girlfriend, Kendra, and his son, Jett. He works as production manager at Sign Station and serves as a firefighter with the Summerside Fire Department.
He is also the grandson of Joseph Aubin Doiron, who was the 22nd lieutenant-governor of P.E.I.
If elected, his key priorities would include investing in renewable energy, eliminating pay increases for mayor and council, freezing sewer and electrical rates, establishing a T3 Transit stop and a large playground for Slemon Park and free swimming at Credit Union Place for children under 12.
