The victim alleged Hallett said he would slit his throat and assault his wife and children.

Hallett denied threatening to slit the man’s throat. His explanation for the incident was he “just snapped.’’

He has prior convictions for assault and uttering a threat.

Hallett was ordered to have no contact with the victim or with the victim’s family.

Provincial Court Judge John Douglas imposed a $100 victim surcharge.

“The most important part of this sentence is that you address any anger management issues,’’ Douglas told Hallett.
