The Junior Achievement of Prince Edward Island announced this morning Gretha Rose, Harris Garfield Johnston and John Norman MacLeod are getting the nod as 2017 inductees as Island business people who have made an outstanding and enduring contribution to business development in the province.

1.) Rose is the driving force behind Cellar Door Productions, a creative and diverse television/cross media company that produces reality, travel, animated and live-action productions with national and international partners.

Rose, known for Eckhart, Doodlez, Mrs. Ashboro’s Cat and cooking shows Chef at Home and Chef at Large, has received three Gemini Awards.

2.) Johnston is the original owner and manager of Johnston Homestyle Products Ltd., a local Island company in business on P.E.I. since the early 1950s and well known for its potato salad and coleslaw.

3.) MacLeod began in the late 1950s as a builder, contractor, construction manager, then co-owner. His entrepreneurial spirit led the way to development and ownership of many successful Island businesses including Williams, Murphy and MacLeod, Metro Building Supplies Ltd., and Prebuilt.

The three business leaders will be formally inducted into the P.E.I. Business Hall of Fame on May 25 at a gala dinner in Charlottetown. Tickets are available through JAPEI.
