Home in Richmond that P.E.I. man was moving into catches fire Thursday night

RICHMOND, P.E.I. – The Red Cross is assisting an Island man after the house he was in the process of moving into caught fire Thursday night.

The fire took place at a two-storey home in Richmond at 1508 Route 127, MacIsaac Road.

The Red Cross says most of the man’s belongings were still in his previous residence, but the organization is helping with emergency purchases of clothing and food.

The man was not at the home at the time of the fire.

Police and the provincial Fire Marshal’s Office are continuing to investigate the cause.
