It could be a slippery morning in P.E.I. as Environment Canada continues a freezing rain warning for the province.
Environment Canada is forecasting a prolonged period of freezing rain developing this morning before changing to showers.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots could become icy and slippery.
The weather agency issues freezing rain warnings when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
Temperatures today are expected to climb to around 4C with about two to four millimetres of rain.
Showers could change to periods of freezing drizzle after midnight and there is a risk of freezing rain early tonight.
There is a chance of flurries tomorrow morning but temperatures are expected to climb above the freezing mark later in the day.
Cindy Day, SaltWire Network’s chief meteorologist, will have the latest weather details throughout the day at www.theguardian.pe.ca as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
