In a unanimous decision released July 14, the P.E.I. Court of Appeal ordered former Donagh Regional School vice-principal Jo-Anne Lanigan to pay $153,010 in legal fees and disbursements.
In November 2015, a P.E.I. Supreme Court judge ruled the federation breached its duty of fair representation to Lanigan in six ways.
The federation appealed that decision and the three-member appeals court said none of the lower court’s findings were sustainable.
In awarding costs, the appeals court included legal fees and disbursements for the supreme court trial and the appeal.
