Burger Love has declared its 2016 winner, the Brick-inator from the Brickhouse Kitchen and Bar in Charlottetown.

The announcement was made Thursday, saying that the month-long promotion generated $2.2 million in sales using about 71,821 pounds of Island beef to create 163,170 burgers sold.

That included 8,061 burgers made from 2,015 pounds of beef in one day of the promotion.

"It is estimated that the minimum overall economic impact was over $3.5 million when we factor each burger purchase included a combination of side, beverage and tip," says the Burger Love site announcing the winner.

The top burger from the 73 participating restaurants was determined by online voting of people who tried some of creative uses of beef.

The Brickhouse, located Sydney Street in Charlottetown, is part of the Murphy Group of properties. Chef Kyle Panton created this year's winner.
