Alleged assault with baseball bat sends P.E.I. woman to hospital

Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint Monday night of an assault by a man using a baseball bat against a woman.

The female victim received non-life-threatening injuries, but did require medical treatment at the QEH, said a police report issued today.

A 45-year-old Charlottetown-area man is now facing a charge of  assault with a weapon. He was put in jail and will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.

Police are continuing with the investigation.
