The house, located on 1222 Route 6, was engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived about 5.26 a.m.
“When we arrived on scene the home was fully engulfed in fire,” said Kensington Fire Chief Allan Sudsbury. “There was one gentleman at his home this morning, and he escaped with his six puppy dogs prior to our arrival.”
Four Kensington fire trucks attended with 21 of their firefighters to battle the blaze.
“We had the fire somewhat put out by 9 a.m. And we left the scene at 12.30 p.m.,” said Sudsbury.
New London Fire Department also attended the scene with three of their fire trucks.
“We got the call at 5.27 a.m. and Kensington a little earlier,” said New London Fire Chief Allan Cole.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation by the provincial fire marshal’s office.
