WEST POINT - A West Point lobster fisherman is being treated in hospital in Halifax following an accident at sea on Saturday.

The fisherman reportedly lost part of his hand when he got caught up in the boat’s trap hauler while bringing traps onboard the vessel.

Paramedics were waiting on the West Point wharf when the crew rushed him to shore.

Family of the fisherman, when contacted Tuesday, declined comment on the incident.
