The reward in the potato tampering case has been extended.
There have been no arrests to date in the case of food tampering involving the deliberate insertion of sewing needles into potatoes.
The potatoes were destined for human consumption and the local industry remains concerned about the effect "cowardly acts such as this have on the confidence of consumers in the food supply''.
The P.E.I. Potato Board issued a new release Thursday stating that the deadline for the reward for information has been extended to Oct. 31.
Up to $100,000 is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals. Anonymous tips are eligible for the reward.
Anyone knowing the individual or individuals involved, or who has information that would assist police in this investigation, can provide information anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), via the web at www.peicrimestoppers.com or by texting "TIP162" plus the message to 274637 (CRIMES).
People may also contact RCMP directly at 902-436-9300 or email email@example.com and an investigator will respond.
