Man charged in Pleasant Grove shooting incident remains in custody

A 30-year-old Pleasant Grove man charged in connection with a shooting incident in that community last week has agreed to remain in custody until his next court appearance Jan. 18.

Matthew Brian Misener consented to remand during a show cause hearing this morning before a justice of the peace.

Misener, who sat quietly beside his lawyer during the hearing, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of careless use of a firearm.

An earlier court date of Jan. 4 was offered to the accused but defence counsel said she did not expect to have full disclosure from the Crown by that date.

Members of Misener's family were present in the courtroom for the hearing.

A publication ban was imposed at the request of the Crown.

An order prohibiting the accused from having contact with certain individuals was  also imposed.
