Woman blows over twice the legal limit, sent to jail facing charge of impaired driving

A 55-year-old Charlottetown woman was charged   with impaired driving Thursday night following a collision on Babineau Avenue.

A spokesman for Charlottetown Police Services said the department received a complaint  at 7:39 p.m. regarding a motor vehicle collision and possible impaired driver on the road that leads past the new Canadian Tire area.

Police went to the scene of the collision and determined the accused, one of vehicle drivers, was impaired.

The accused had a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit.

She was jailed at the provincial correctional centre and will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.
